(IsraelNN.com) Yoram Ettinger, a former Israeli Embassy liaison with Congress, says it's critical for Israeli decision-makers to know that, contrary to popular perception, the proportion of Jews in the Land of Israel is rising. "The demographic problem is not only not lethal to Israel," Ettinger told Yishai Fleisher on IsraelNationalRadio.com, "the tailwind is in fact going in favor of the Jews, not the Arabs."

(IsraelNN.com) Just hours after Israel was forced to remove a military anti-terror checkpoint in the area, a Fatah terrorist cell nearly succeeded in kidnapping an Israeli youth - or so Fatah claims. It was originally thought that a Palestinian terrorist at the Shilo Junction tried to stab 17-year-old Hillel Maeir of Beit El. The terrorist lifted his arm to stab Hillel, was shot by a bystander, then tried to pull out another knife, and was then shot again - this time to death. (IsraelNN.com) U.S. House Resolution 185, adopted on Tuesday, recognizes for the first time the rights of Jews who became refugees as a result of the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Resolution expresses "the sense of the House of Representatives regarding the creation of refugee populations." The non-binding bill asks the President to ensure that in all international forums, when the issue of Middle East refugees is discussed, US representatives will make sure that any explicit reference to Palestinian Arab refugees is matched by a similar explicit reference to Palestinian Jewish and other refugees. Animal rights group "Tnoo Lachayot Lichyot" ("Let the Animals Live") is threatening to take legal action to prevent the Jewish Temple movement from carrying out an educational demonstration of the Pesach (Passover) sacrifice next week. The group's chairman, Attorney Reuven Ladiansky, sent a letter to Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski and to Temple Institute Director Yehuda Glick, urging them to cancel the planned event or face legal action. (IsraelNN.com) Israel National Radio’s Yishai Fleisher interviewed Danny Halamish, the Gush Etzion resident who faces jail time along with his brother for defending his community as part of its first-response team. Halamish, from the hilltop community of Maaleh Rechavam, near Tekoa in eastern Gush Etzion, is to begin serving a seven-month jail sentence in the near future together with his brother. A Jerusalem court accepted the account of local Palestinian Authority Bedouin of an incident near a local Jewish youth village and rejected out of hand the account he, his brother and the local IDF-appointed security officer gave. The poll, carried out among 468 respondents, shows that 54 percent of Israelis feel there is corruption in Israel's justice system, while 13 percent said there is no corruption. (IsraelNN.com) The Arab Mukhtar of Silwan, the notoriously Islamist neighborhood just to the east of the Old City, says a German news agency pays Arab youths to riot against City of David excavation. The City of David (Ir David) organization has purchased several properties in Silwan, also known as Shiloach due to the Temple-era spring located in the valley. In addition to the vast archeological and tourist sites currently located there, excavations are ongoing – though they are often disrupted by groups of Arabs and left-wing Jews who have claimed that they are disturbing the lives of local Arabs. Instead of the security and strategy discussions that usually take place, the spiritual future of the Jewish people was discussed. The conference was attended by the Orthodox Union’s Lev Yehudi and ten other religious Zionist outreach organizations. The organizations declared their mission: “The transformation of the entire people of Israel by connecting them to our Father in Heaven in a more meaningful way. (IsraelNN.com) The IDF, on orders from the Olmert government, removed 10 manned checkpoints in the Binyamin region and Samaria Thursday evening. The roadblocks were taken down near Ramallah, Shechem, Tal Karem and Kalkilya. (IsraelNN.com) Public Security Minister Avi Dichter's personal aide, Mati Gil, suffered light to moderate injuries Friday morning when the minister's entourage came under fire from a Gaza gunman. Gil, 30, a resident of Jerusalem, was hit in the groin by what was deemed to be a sharpshooter's bullet. He was taken to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. (IsraelNN.com) The enemy in Gaza fired two rockets at the coastal city of Ashkelon Saturday night, causing the emergency sirens in the city to be sounded and sending tens of thousands of people into shelters and "protected spaces." Writing in Haaretz, Yissacharov describes a downtrodden demoralized Zakariya Zubeidi – once the brazen chief of Yasser Arafat’s terrorist arm. Soon after Mughniyeh's death, Israel warned Syria that it would hold it responsible for any revenge attack launched by Hizbullah for the killing of Mughniyeh, its operations officer.
