Abbas Urges Olmert to Negotiate with Hamas

by Hana Levi Julian

Published:

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) met for the second time in two days early Monday in Jerusalem in what was allegedly a hastily arranged "last minute" meeting.

It was the second brace of meetings in as many weeks, but reportedly failed to resolve the dispute over Israel’s right to build within Jerusalem city limits and how to stop the continuing terrorist attacks launched by PA terrorists from Gaza. Negotiating teams for the two sides reportedly met as well.

Ex-Begin Aide: Israel Must Stand On Its Own vs. Iran

9 Nissan 5768
April 14, '08

(IsraelNN.com) Israel must stand on its own and cannot rely on the United States to act on its behalf to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power, Zev Chafetz, former director of the government press office under Prime Minister Menachem Begin, wrote in the New York Times. "The failure of diplomacy to stop Iran’s nuclear program became obvious this week, when President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad revealed the installation of 6,000 new centrifuges at the country’s main uranium enrichment complex," Chafetz stated. He added that "the abashed silence of an American president" revealed his "bluff…in front of the entire world."

Why Ahmadinejad smiles

04.12.2008.09:40

The regime affiliated Iranian Fars news agency published a sensational story this week. According to the Fars report, Saudi Arabia and Israel collaborated in killing Iranian terror-master Imad Mughniyeh.

The story is important regardless of whether it is true. It is important because it says something important about the nature of Iran's relationship with Syria. Specifically, it says that Iran views Syria as a vassal state.

The United Nations: Islam’s Gestapo
Nepotism, corruption, anti-Semitism and now censorship.

04.12.2008.09:36

While the United Nations has disgraced itself over the years with sporadic eruptions of the first three negatives, it added another one last March 28 when its Human Rights Council passed a disturbing resolution that directs the body’s expert on free speech to report on “individuals and news media for negative comments on Islam.” In effect, the UN will now become the Islamic world’s censorship watchdog, snooping out undefined acts of Islamophobia around the globe.

More than 80 percent of American Christians say they have a "moral and biblical obligation" to support the State of Israel, and half say Jerusalem should remain its undivided capital, according to a survey released on Thursday.

While evangelical Christians are the strongest supporters of the Jewish state, strong pro-Israel convictions cut across all key Christian denominations in the US, according to the poll carried out on behalf of the Washington-based Joshua Fund, an evangelical organization.

(IsraelNN.com) Early in the afternoon, Hamas terrorists attempted another sneak infiltration attack in Israel. The target was the Kerem Shalom crossing at the Israel-Egypt-Gaza border, through which Israel continues to stream food and supplies into Hamas-run Gaza.

An alert IDF desert patrol unit, generally comprised of Bedouin soldiers, identified the cell of three terrorists attempting to infiltrate into Israel near the crossing.  The soldiers opened fire, killing one and wounding another, and took off in pursuit of the third.

Netanyahu Says Any Abbas-Olmert Agreement Will be Voided

by Ezra HaLevi

Published:
4/18/08, 9:39 AM

(IsraelNN.com) Likud Chairman and former Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says any agreement reached between PM Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is null and void.

Widely expected to be the next prime minister, Netanyahu said he would not honor an agreement reached between Fatah chief Abbas and Olmert – who are currently engaged in frantic negotiations on final status issues. The nature of the hurried negotiations with the questionably-sovereign head of a fractured PA is to reach a US-imposed deadline of at least a theoretical deal for a Palestinian state by the end of 2008.
